MSCMP2026 honours outstanding early-career researchers through two dedicated prizes – one for the best poster, one for the best oral presentation – each carrying the name and legacy of a distinguished figure in Moldovan physics.

A number of distinctive presentations will be recognised in each category. Winners are selected by the Conference Committee, based on the proposals of Session Chairs and review scores collected throughout the meeting.

Dohotaru Science Foundation Award
The London-based Dohotaru Science Foundation supports scientific and educational projects focused on the public good, providing prizes and awards at research institutions and backing gifted children and young scientists.
The award is named after Grigore Dohotaru, a prominent physicist whose research on muon capture in nuclei significantly advanced the understanding of fundamental particle interactions. He worked at the Institute of Applied Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova and at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna.

Best Oral Presentation
Acad. Mircea Bologa Award
Named in honour of Academician Mircea Bologa (1935–2025), a founding figure of Moldovan physics who led the Institute of Applied Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova as deputy director and later director for nearly two decades.
He founded the country’s research school on heat- and mass-transfer intensification under electric and magnetic fields, authored some 1,500 scientific works and over 300 patents, and for six decades edited the journal now published internationally as Surface Engineering and Applied Electrochemistry.

Who can apply
Eligibility
Both awards follow the same eligibility rules. Young scientists notify the Organising Committee of their willingness to participate in the award.
1. Must be a Young Scientist — 35 years old or younger at the abstract submission deadline (31 July 2026).
2. Must be the presenter and first author of the paper.
3. Open to contributions across all conference sections, in either poster or oral format.
4. All eligible presentations are considered — please, notify the organising committee in competition participation.
